About the event
WEBINAR (live via zoom- $20)
This is the 2nd webinar in our four part Women Support Webinar series.
In the ancient wisdom of Ayurveda, Asrigdara (also known as Raktapradara) refers to excessive or prolonged menstrual bleeding. This condition closely aligns with modern diagnoses of Abnormal Uterine Bleeding (AUB) or menorrhagia.
Drawing from classical texts like Charaka Samhita and Madhava Nidana, this presentation examines the Nidana (etiological factors) behind Asrigdara: dietary indiscretions (excessive sour, salty, or pungent foods), lifestyle imbalances (overexertion, stress), and the vitiation of Doshas—primarily Pitta and Vata, along with Rakta Dhatu.
We explore the concept of Samprapti (pathogenesis), its classification into four Dosha-specific types (Vataja, Pittaja, Kaphaja, and Sannipataja), characteristic symptoms, and prognostic insights.
By understanding these root causes through the Ayurvedic perspective, we gain timeless tools for prevention and holistic management, bridging ancient knowledge with contemporary women's health challenges.
